Which PCI Powermacs Do You have? Hardware 32 posts Oct 18, 2007 — Jul 26, 2013
Well?

I have a 6500/250, 7500/100, a 7600/132, an 8600/250, a 9500/200, G3/266MT, and G3/300MT.

Well?
I have a 6500/250, 7500/100, a 7600/132, an 8600/250, a 9500/200, G3/266MT, and G3/300MT.
I had a StarMax 4000 MT, but now my father is holding that one.

5400/180, 4400/200 and G3/266 tower.

The 5400 was once a 5200/75 but I upgraded it with a 6400/180 motherboard.

Desktops with physical PCI slots, I've got:

PowerComputing PowerTower Pro 210 (210MHz 604e)

Well, I was counting only the beige machines, but that raises a question. Why is there a separate forum here for G3, G4, and G5 machines, when they are all PCI PowerPC machines? Shouldn't they all be discussed in this forum?

I don't think so, the G3s and above are quite a separate line of machines as they are for OS X and the older ones are really only good for 9.1, added to the fact that most of the G3+ ones are New World/non-beige and so again quite a different category.

my only PowerMac is a G4 B&W that has been upgraded severely. Which I am thinking of selling. I really don't use it, and really have no need for it. it's 400Mhz G4 w/ 1MB L2 cache, a 160GB IDE HDD w/ SATA adapter. A 1.5Gb PCI SATA Card (with 2 plugs), a DVD-ROM, a Zip drive (internal), a FireWire/USB2.0 card, and a Radeon 7000 PCI 32MB

Not bad.. Anyone know the relative worth of this?

EDIT: oh and 512MB (2x256 Matching DIMMS) Memory

Um.... (glances around workshop) .... all of them?

No, I couldn't tell you right now, sheesh the place is a mess, where did I leave that flux capacitor?

See my SIG, should be 6400, 8500, 7500, 8600, G3 DT, G3 MT

I mostly use 68k

Does an iMac count? :p

Sorry, but other than my iMac, all my Macs are NuBus machines!

ive got my maxed out umax c500. 20 gb hd, rage 128 video card, g3 upgrade, & 144mb ram.

The only Mac I have that can take a PCI card is my 733 MHz G4 digital audio. It is my primary machine (I am typing this message on it).

Just a 6500/225 here. That and two G-Machines.

9600/200 with a 640MB RAM and a G3/266/512K on a XLR8 ZIF carrier

8550/120 WGS with a NewerTech G3/233

PowerComputing PowerTower/166 with a G3/300 Sonnet Crescendo card

The 8550 is running OS X Server 1.2.1

The PowerTower is running 9.1 (k-spit)

The 9600 would be running OS X 10.3 if I could get it to boot. It's got a pout on with me.

I know I'm digging up an ancient thread here, but hey... it's still relevant isnt it? Came across it whilst trolling back through all the old stuff to find 5500 threads that might solve my problems

So, anyway... heregoes.

5500/250 Black (Australian non-DE model)

5500/225... got a couple.

5260/120

7600/200... got a few of these, and one is souped up like a boss.

7500/100

WGS 7350/180

7200/75

7220/200 (Australian only variant of the 4400)

6360/160... got half a dozen of these.

6100/66

6100/66 DOS Compatible

Beige G3/233 DT

PowerComputing PowerMax? desktop clone... around 200-250mhz kinda range?

Thats the ones I remember... Oh and I have a 580CD with a 6360 logic board in it too if that counts?

I got these over the years:

Performa 5400/200

Performa 6400/200

PowerMac 4400/200

PowerMac 7500

PowerMac 9500/200

PowerMac G3/233 DT

PowerMac G3/300 MT

PowerMac G3 B&W 300 rev1

PowerMac G3 B&W 350 rev1 (bought it new)

PowerMac G4 Sawtooth

PowerMac G4 Digital Audio

PowerMac G4 Gigabit

PowerMac G4 QuickSilver DP800

PowerMac G4 MDD DP1.44

Didnt know whether to include the NewWorlds. :) As far as they go, I've got...

G3 B+W Rev.1 with Sonnet G4 patch and stock Yikes G4/350 CPU

G3 B+W Rev.2 450, 1Gb RAM 2x40Gb HDD, DVD-RW... blah blah. Originally started life as a stock Rev.1 300 when I first bought it, then I bought the Rev.2 board, graphics card and CPU later on after I learned of the corruption issues.

G4 Yikes with Encore G4/500 ZIF upgrade, 1Gb RAM, 2x40Gb HDD's, DVD-RW, added FW card... and a blown speaker output cos *some* idiot shorted the wires when messing with a speaker upgrade.

I also had another G3 which was built from the leftover Rev.1 parts of my first one and the case and other parts of a dead G3 I picked up for $20 at a computer market. Put it together, cleaned it up, and sold it for $250... lol and to think nowadays theyre only worth $20 in working order.

Macs that are generally considered part of the "Power Mac PCI series":

7500/100

7200/90

7600/132

7300/200

WGS 7350/200

8500/120

Other Macs with actual PCI slots, but not generally considered to be part of the "PCI Series":

G3 DT 233

G3 MT 300

G3 B&W 350

G4 DA 433

Other Macs based on a PCI architecture (meaning no AGP graphics):

PowerBook 1400cs

PowerBook G3 Lombard

Dead G3, my other vintage Mac is an LC II, soon to be an LC III with a Mobo swap.

Anyone have a Beige G3 Zif and heatsink w/ clip they want to trade and/or sell for? I have an ISA Video capture suite I just picked up. Need to test it when I get back from California in a week.

I have a couple of processors but ill have to look for a heat sink, the B&W sink should be th same.

I've now got a 9600. Also a few B&W G3's...which are for sale!!! :p

The B&W heat sink is a bit higher. Might be a problem in a beige desktop but if so it'd be easy enough to snip a bit off the fins

I have a couple of processors but ill have to look for a heat sink, the B&W sink should be th same.
Still around:
