It is quite probable that the display interconnect cable has become dislodged or detached entirely from it's connector on the motherboard. Try taking the machine apart and make sure that everything is plugged in properly, ie. re-seat all the cables to be sure.

Short of that, the display inverter board may be shot or the display itself. Since the backlight comes on, it suggests that the display itself is probably alright.
