When I use some program on the apple IIe (some high res program I think), the pictures look ok but the text is all giberish unreadable.

For example when I run GEOS the icons look fine, but the text is all giberish for some reason. I get the same problem with Battle Chess for example. I tried colour and black an white monitors as well as a tv.

What could be the problem?
