I kinda like this rankless thing. Was there a specific reason it was dropped? It has been a long time since I was a member.
My guess was people kept posting a bunch of meaningless posts to get a higher rank.

Although honestly, it seems as though there are just as many meaningless posts as there were at towards the end of 68kmla v2.

I think that post count and rank don't really matter. Crap is crap. As far as I can tell it will almost always wind up on forums. But it's just one less reason for it to be posted.
That was the idea... you'll notice the post count isn't displayed either. It certainly has cut down the poscount++ a bit (and all the topics along the lines of "look at me I've got x posts now! yay!"). However, whether it has reduced the crap or not is entirely subjective [
