I'm going to inaugurate this new section with some of my recent works. Opinions, suggestions and "likes" or "dislikes" are welcome...

2-LostSummer

3-SyncMonster

4-Esperanza

5-Argos

6-DiscoÑa

All this themes were made on a G4 MDD running  Mac Os 9. The audio/MIDI software used was Cubase VST 5  with NI Kompakt and NI FM7 as virtual sinths (VSTi). In some themes PowerCore plugins  were used.
No midi or pre-sampled phrases or loops were used. All is made with absolute original material, but most instruments patchs.
Nor live midi sequenced or live audio recorded also. Pure scoring, pure computer, PURE Mac Os 9 DAW! :)
Hey all, I'm new here so thought I'd say hi!

I've been collecting for a few years, and I love macs. I initially had a small collection of Powerbook protos which I resold as I was living in a shared house at the time and needed the space.

Anyways, here's my current collection. I'll start with the more boring stuff:

* 500 Mhz Pismo, 1GB RAM, 100 GB HDD, G wireless. Original CD drive and battery working!

* Performa 450 (hasn't been booted for a few years. Hope the caps haven't died)

* 2x Prototype AirPort cards

* Apple Prototype Wireless keyboard

* Apple Prototype Wired Keyboard

* iPod 30GB Video DVT

* A few Nano prototype boards/enclosures/dev boards (pre-EVT thru to production)

* a few pre EVT boards of various descriptions (no idea what a few of them are, may post pics later)

* Prototype SE/30 logic board with XC CPU

* Prototype G4 Dual CPU logic board/DVT2 Dual CPU card/Prototype heatsink

* DVT iBook 500 logic board (needs a reball, as do I before I try that :D )

* Apple interactive TV box (British one from BT trial)

Happy to post a few pics if people would like to see those.

Welcome aboard!

Since you're new, please remember to take a look at the forum rules when you have time :)

That looks like a neat collection, from what I see! I guess you're mostly interested in prototypes, aren't you? I think you'll be pleased to meet Haplain then!
I definitely want to take a look at it, especially at the SE/30 logic board - I've never seen a 68030 XC processor out in the wild, it'd be definitely cool to see if the board itself has any difference from the one that entered production later.

Too bad for the gone PowerBook prototypes, they would have been cool to have nowadays.

I hope you'll have a happy staying here :)

Welcome aboard and love your stuff!!!

Here's some shots of the SE/30 motherboard I took a few months ago.
I've been lurking for a while and seen your collection haplain - looks really impressive.

You just became Hap's new best friend. :p

Hi,

You can listen to some recordings on a rocker mood (don´t tell that I did not told about...) that I did with some friends some years ago:

All guitars there are from me, beside many other things. 8)
Indeed :)

hap has always loved his proto!!!   :)

Welcome.

Well I was wondering what kind of creative stuff you guys might be making with all this great old tech,
put up a track or two,vid/art or something:-) and say a few words about it if you want....

here's my effort:-

synthwave/soundtrack mix

sequenced some old synths/drum machine and recorded them to tapedeck,then back into the comp:-),i've not heard it on speakers
but it should sound alright as I've not heard anyone moaning about it yet!(did it on headphones-I've got two autistic daughters
that make lots of noise/dont like my noise,heh).

It's all I know

Here is a track I recorded using DieHard's Instant DAW Suite a while back.

Akai S950 sequenced and recorded with Cubase VST/32

Some synthwavey industrial I was working on using System 7 and Cubase 3.0.1 on a Quadra 700.

nice to see the old mac in action!,you got some good keys is that a re-release prophet?,looks really sweet,my m8 has the
original but its broke at the moment,the house track is really chill I like it:-),really enjoyed your video thanks for posting,
its inspiring for me to see that,i'll have to get my studio back together and make some more vidz,yeah im gonna get that
instant DAW going too when i get round to it!.

hi Architecture,
That track sounds well,I can really hear that the midi is super tight!
Unfortunately the SXPRO card has no MIDI driver for OSX. It''s fabulous in OS9.
