Older versions of Yellow Dog Linux are said to run well on the Beige G3s also, but I can't speak to that directly.

Running YDL4 (kernel 2.6.10 IIRC) on mine. Very reliable both hw and sw, but starting to feel a bit slow now. Decent P3s are starting to become dumpster fodder, so if I can get one I might retire the G3.
