Anyone have an older version of MPW that would run on Systems earlier than 7.5.x? I have the current version from Apple's site, but I have a need to do some System 6 development, and would prefer to do it on hardware that is a little weak for 7.5.

I can always do this with a different IDE such as THINK, but I wanted to try my hand with MPW.

I don't have it on hand, but CodeWarrior 9 bundled a version of MPW that would work with System 7.1. I've never seen a version that works with System 6, though they do exist.

That's a good tip. I'll see if I can track down CW9. In fact, I might even have it around here somewhere.

You need MPW 3.2 for System 6 development.

I have an old version of MPW from 1999. It claims to work on System 7.0 or later. The MPW shell is version 3.5.

I´m looking for an old version of mpw too version 3.2 for system 6. my mjate is wanting to port his game engine to 6.0.8 can anyone help please?

I recommend...

(a) Volumes I to V of Inside Macintosh

( B) pre System 7 headers

© or headers which still have the "SystemSevenOrLater" ifdefs so you can avoid APIs which "don't exist yet"
