Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego - Quick Question
For any vets of this game, how many cases do you need to get into the Hall of Fame on the 5th floor? (I'm sitting at 33 cases and on the fourth floor now).
Reply to my reply...I found 35 cases gets you to the fifth floor...no hall of fame inductions yet though.
*this* is a reply to your reply.
I have GOT to get this game... Anybody have any leads on where I can pick up a copy legally (or if not legally, at least with a clear conscience)?
Peace,
Drew

Check around with the folks who sell the old software, such as B&R Computer, Herb's Mac Stuff, etc. I don't think either has it in inventory right now but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
If you look on eBay, make sure you look for a FLOPPY version. There are usually tons of CDs of Carmen on there but they are too new.
Don't forget the local sources like school surplus, thrift stores, used bookstores, etc. Plus disks occasionally will show up randomly here in the trading post--remember that big lot Mike had a few weeks ago?
The big trick is that you also need the Brøderbund edition of the New American Desk Encyclopedia along with the disks. If you find disks by themselves, you may want to look at a library book sale or a used book store for this.
Drew: Do you realize that your signature contains two alternate names for the MacMag virus???

The MacMag virus, which originated in a HyperCard stack, was also known as the "Peace" virus and was written by Drew Davidson, hence the resource "DREW" being copied into the system folder on execution.
So... that pretty much explains it.

Ha! I did not know that! I don't write viruses (wouldn't even know where to start).
