Well,

Actuley it is a web filter by 8e6. It came without the hd and special os, so it cant be a web filter/proxy. I am making it into a server.

866mhz PIII

256mb RAM

Space for 2 IDE Drives

FSP Group PSU

3 nics

What do you alll think?

all for 20$ n ia cool x-serve like case. The front is aluminum.

Wow. It is really loud. The fans are super loud. Maby with the cover on it will be better?

WD-40 I'm sure would fix the noisy fans, my Fantom Drives case fan grinds and WD-40 fixed it.

No, it is not the bearings. Just the ammount of air. tons and tons of it. Hi Velocity too.

WD-40 is not a lubricant, it's a degreaser. Great for clearing gunk out of the bearing race, not great for long-term protection. After a few days of use, follow up with a drop of sewing machine oil.

You should see an IBM BladeCenter H with the fans at full speed. You can feel the blast from 10' away.

I spilt some water on my shirt once at work. So I just reset the management module so the fans would go to full speed and stood behind the BladeCenter. My shirt was dry in about 30 seconds.

bladecenter sounds rather ominous

Damn! I want that. For some reason, BIG sound = Big Power in my eyes. Dang, I would LOVE to have my box sound like a vacuum again. My last PC was like that and I want that sound back! Especially when I got a dually core under the hood of this machine. It almost sounds like a mini-supercomputer :D
