Thanks, Beachycove. I'll attempt to get what you have suggested.

Last night I took out this PC's 2-wire router and hooked it up to the iMac. I plugged in the Ethernet cable and phone line, but still the DSL status light flashed red. Therefore, as you said, I need a DSL modem. Actually, I'll also try and get another router so that I won't have to keep taking it from the PC.
