A step closer to Leopard on a beige??

Interesting. Once all the work is done getting Leopard to run on a beige G3, I am sure someone is going to build on that and get it running on an upgraded 601-604 machine.

But why? Tiger is a pain to get on my 8500, why make it further harder?
Because it can be done.
Although Panther is fine on G4'd 8500, I wouldn't run Leopard on it. Not because it couldn't be done mind you, but because it really wouldn't be all that useful to me.

it might be doable on a Beige G3 but i would not run it on one, i have issues with Leopard on my DA 533 due to only having 768mb ram (right now) with the HDD always swapping. with the slower bus and slower speed of the IDE bus on the beige G3 (minus the IDE bus if you have a PCI IDE controller) its going to be a nightmare.
