Fairly uncommon, but worth the search. They have the TRKL failure much less often than the Astec PSUs. While that failure can be 'fixed', the fix is a pain, as is the failure of soft shutdown also, which leaves a user with the older 'You can now switch off ...' (or words to that effect) message, but no switch with which to do so. There is then nowt available but to pull out the mains cable.

I agree. Disassembly of the IIcx/IIci/Q700 is no big deal. Just a nuisance for something like a battery replacement. For RAM upgrade, it is barely tolerable.
