Games you'd like to see ported to Apple II...
It's no secret that the Apple II was Apple's best computer for gaming, but I feel that there are some games that really deserved a port to the platform that never made it on. These are mostly european games. The Apple II was never very popular in europe. People over there were mostly playing with their superior Spectrums and CPCs and never gave this supposedly weak little machine a chance.
And it's really a shame that they didn't. It would have been really nice to see games like Chuck Rock, 3D Construction Kit, Stunt Car Racer, Lemmings (why was it never ported?), Manic Miner, Turrican, Hard Drivin' (at least I'D like to see it on the A2.
), M. U. L. E, and so many others on the A2.
Oh well. I guess you can't have everything. What are some of the games you'd like to see ported?

The Apple II already has the finest game every made (IMHO): Applesoft BASIC. (Seriously. I spent a lot of my childhood with Applesoft BASIC and the Commodore 64 BASIC.)
It is true that the Apple II's primary gaming stronghold was in America. At that time the top end computer for the UK was probably the BBC Micro which had countless well known and obscure games written for it.
I'd like to see a Zelda game on the IIe. Or Super Mario Brothers.
Crysis...
Marathon
 The Beeb had probably the best 8 bit Basic you could get in those days. That's why so much was released for it. Even an amateur could write a decent looking program. It is true that the Apple II's primary gaming stronghold was in America. You can still get BBC BASIC for many platforms today

Can you imagine the amount of floppy disks required, swapping had to be done, speed and performance issue to port those games!! BUT IT WOULD BE UNBELIEVABLY awesome to see that happening! Can you imagine online support on those

Actually I REALLY LOVE if lots of awesome games PORTED TO THE Apple II gs to be more honest. Apple II gs even if it is in the 16 bit mod and have more colors, blah blah, it still have the Apple II display color feel, graphics feel, everything about Apple II feel in an.
In conclusion I wish more games are ported to the Apple II gs, is this possible? Can you port Ultima 6 to Apple II gs? How about Savage Empire for example or Ultima world games, even attempt Ultima underworld hehe.
Now this is a game that I would LOVE to play one hundred percent for sure

You can either run this on a GS emulator or transfer it to your GS to play on the real hardware.
Have fun!

Thank you so much for this link, much appreciate it.

hehe, it is true. I love Amiga too as well. I am a proud owner of Amiga 1200, Commodore 64c, and an Apple II gs.
Driver 1 and 2.
Super Mario 64. Yes, it would probably need like 30 floppies, but it would be worth it.
If super mario 64 ever needs to work it have to be in Apple II gs mode, not Apple II mode.
I'd be happy with a decent Hangman game... that shouldn't be too hard.
DUKE NUKEM 3D!
Now that the fun is all over let us get serious here. Is there truly a plan of actually porting ANYTHING to the Apple II gs? If so, are there serious programmers out there who is seeking lists from us with more demand to start porting? I need to know.
what about Portal, or team fortress II? Can we get one that is networked with a Uthernet card?
What about one that utilizes a CD-ROM or Combact Flash adapter?

i know of at least 1 group with 1 game on the boox and yes ethernet savvy -not public tho...
GTA 4!!!!!
Nah, seriously...how about a good implementation of Tetris?

How about porting Ultima series games to the Apple II gs mode: savage empire, Ultima 7, martial dreams, etc.
Wow, I didn't know this thread was resurrected. Anyway, here are some more games I'd like to see ported: Yoomp, because it would be pretty cool with a Mockingboard, and any good side-scrolling platformer, such as the James Pond series, or Turrican. Maybe there could also be some 3D adventure games, such as the Mercenary series, or Cholo, and maybe some cool FPS games, such as
. It would also be cool to see some more Sierra adventures, Particularly the Space Quest series.
What is the point of this thread really if there is no serious porters out there? Is someone out there excellent at assembly language for the Apple II gs that he/she have real desire to port programs from other platforms to the Apple II gs mode? If that is the case and they take this post seriously and are making survey then there is point to this posting, however it is more of a fun and major disappointment to me because I was expecting some new software for my Apple II gs.
