Well, I just bought a TechStep from eBay. It was $42 shipped ($30 without). Good deal? I think so! It also has the case and two ROM packets.

Nice! :O Good to hear someone here managed to get one!
nice. You can run those things off regular 9 volt batteries, which tends to make them a bit more portable. Just snap off the port block, and there you go.
Also, nice to see it comes with the case. Most times they don't. I have always wanted one.

lol, actually some of my female friends were asking me about it. of course, everyone thought it was a calculator, but what I don't get is, where are the + and - and = keys? Makes me wonder, could someone write an app for it to make it a calc?
When I bought one home for a couple of days back in 2002, my parents thought the same thing.

Ok I'll byte ... what is a TechStep ?
Its a diagnostics device that Apple made for service centres in the early 1990's, for diagnosing faults on Macs from the Mac Plus up until about the LCIII.
I do have a personal mainframe. Actually I have 2, but I really only use one of them. As for the second part, I wouldn't know about that. Thats not my bag baby.....you should get a personal mainframe, that REALLY gets the chicks all moist![]()
