Internal Modem Issues Software 4 posts May 8, 2008 — May 9, 2008
So my 6500 has an internal modem. I can't figure out how to use it though.

It automatically wants to use the modem port, as seen in this screenshot:

I am a novice in the field of device recognition. Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks

I assume the modem lives in the CommSlot but the software seeks for a modem connected the modem port. Try to select the appropriate port and then check the Remote Access connection, again.

You may need a system extension that enables the comm slot modem.

It's part of the standard OS install, but if the OS was installed before the the modem card was, then it may not be in the Extensions folder.

Another possibility is that you're running OS9 and the comm slot modem either (a) won't work with OS9, or ( B) will work but must be configured with the Express Modem Control Panel, which won't work under OS9.

Okay, I have found that I need Apple Telecom Software, according to the guys over in the IRC, it is only available on the system cd. Any ideas?
