Hold down Command-Shift-Option-Delete.
On another thought - are you sure that the System 7.1 folder has the right enabler? In order to boot an LC475, a System 7.1 installation needs the System Enabler 065.

Thanks for the tips LCGuy, but unfortunately no luck. I believe my install has all the right bits (enabler and all), but I'm still not able to boot from it. The ommand-Shift-Option-Delete combo showed me a flashing question mark (which is more than I normally get).

Perhaps its because these partitions are on the same physical disk - should I be able to choose which partition I want to boot from when they are both on the same disk?

Perhaps not Might be time to look for an external SCSI drive... doh
