Which memory for a Performa 6360

Hi,

I have a Performa 6360 that I would like to upgrade memory a little bit for it. I saw that it is 168 pin DIMM memory. But that is a little bit generic... By reading Internet, I realize that PC100 memory is also 168 pins DIMM SDRAM, not exactly the same, but near...

I suppose I have the answer already, but can PC100 memory replace the memory in the Performa?

If not, how can I search for compatible memory on the Internet?

No, PC100 is 3.3V. Your Performa needs the old-skool 5V DIMMs common on older PowerMacs.

Your best bet is to go straight to eshop.macsales.com - their prices are better than most of what I've been able to find on ebay.

9$ for one 64 meg, from what I saw, that is a good deal. But they proposed 60 ns memory, while Mactracker and LowEndMac show it should be 70 ns minimum, what gives?

A common enough mistake, in the tech/computer world, bigger numbers tend to mean better - except in the case of access times! This caught me out for a little while too when I started fiddling with Macs.

Yea, and I'm surprise I got caught in this one!

Is there any differences between EDO and non EDO for the Performa model? They offer both, but just want to be sure I won't order the bad one

I believe the 6360 can use either EDO or non EDO memory, but you should not mix these in the same computer. Also note the memory slots in the 6360 are not all the same - one of the slots can only accept an 8 MB module (?).
