SCSI CD-ROM/DVD-RAM driver

SCSI CD-ROM/DVD-RAM driver OS 9 4 posts Jul 26, 2008 — Jul 26, 2008
is there a place I can get a SCSI Driver for 3rd party SCSI Drives under OS 9 for a CD-ROM / DVD-RAM Drive?

I need to get it working so I can a: Have a faster drive, and b: I need to get it to get OS X on this machine. The machine doesn't have IDE

nvm. I used a driver from the system 7 days to make it work. Yes, that's right, a System 7 CD-ROM Driver being used in Mac OS 9 :D

so far, i have a 24x CD-ROM (non-Apple SCSI) working :D

You can use this driver

Yeah, that's the D-5.3.1 driver, the "universal" driver that will run just about anything. I presume the D means "Developer Version" - anyone know for sure?

AFAIK what makes it universal is simply the fact that the driver contains the appropriate text strings that tell it that any drive is supported. In other words, I don't think the driver has any actual additional code in it that specifically enables it to work with drives unsupported by the standard Apple driver of that era.

I would guess it's D - for German (Deutsch).
