So it looks like the upper contact has a fair amount of corrosion. You were all correct! I tried cleaning it but it still doesn't seem enough – the date still isn't saving. What's the best way to clean them up? Tips? I'd like to make sure this isn't the issue before taking the next step. My multimeter skills don't extend too much beyond checking batteries. :I
