Eek - you need the base. The base provides power and SCSI to the PowerCD (the DB-25 connector on the PowerCD itself is a proprietary mixture of power and SCSI - do not connect a SCSI cable directly to it), sadly the PowerCD is completely useless without the base. Best of luck finding one.
