you should get one. I have 2 IIes (A beige 128k and a platinum), and 3x IIgses. The IIGs is a freakin sweet machine. GS/OS is just like system 6.
As for the setup, it actually fits better than the old Classic I I had previously. I wanted SOME vintage apple on my desktop to compliment my main machine (hell, my B&W G3 I use primarily is vintage by it's self, but it's running full tilt with a gig of ram, 120gb HD, DVD burner, tiger, and lots of things hooked to it.)
I actually paid less than $80, but with shipping from colorado to michigan, it came to $116.03. I actually just watched another IIc end with just the unit, some software, manuals, and such, and it went for a dollar more than I paid for my whole setup. No monitor was included with that setup, though they show the matching color monitor they had for the IIc (it was 12" IIRC and not as cute as the little 9" mono).
Oh, I know this is not kosher, but I have the disk //c (external drive) sitting on top of the monitor. It works, I was able to boot my ADTPro disk (tried it with nothing I can't re-make). For now, it will stay there since I have no where else to put it. I was actually surprised, it looks like the disk drive is the original snow white color. The IIc looks close, but the monitor has a bit of yellowing. Nothing bad, and not nearly as bad as I have seen.
Now my next investment is in a better surge protector so I can have everything on one strip. Looking at a nice 11 outlet with the wall wart spaced outlets and phone line protection. Right now I use a couple 6 outlets that are kinda old. Does not help the outlet I am using is not grounded.
