However, at least on the consumer end, this would likely fall under a fair use exception. I haven't read the forum rules. Lending a copy is the low-tech version of what I did. It would seem, without having read them, that offering to lend someone a copy of software to pirate is the more cumbersome form of the identical infraction.
I also think it's possible that something in the license attaches System 7 to Mac hardware. That is certainly the case for OS X, which as far as I understand is also not purchasable. So there may be a connection between ownership of the 3400 and ownership of the software that came with it. I'd have to do more research than I want to right now. But these issues are, I suppose, immaterial to forum policy.
