Apparently the editing just expired.  [i actually missed your eBay suggestion - that's also part of my fascination - buying an almost certainly used copy... would that convey the license?  Would giving it away convey the license?  If so is there any legal distinction with doing the same thing through a server?]

I honestly find it fascinating from a legal perspective.  I sent a request for clarification to Apple a few minutes ago asking 1) a) Does the 3400c give license to Mac OS 7.6 [probably not specifically]; b ) does the working copy of 7.6 he has grant some license [possibly?]; 2) How does one legally acquire 7.6?
