You'd need TCP/IP on System 6 to see the whole network and its services. That would be a minimum of 6.07 or System 7.1. Without it, you will only see AppleTalk Services and nothing else. Not even printers unless they are AppleTalk printers.
Right- I'm only interested in using my Appleshare Volume on my netatalk to move software around. I am not interested in TCP/IP.

The netatalk server should be putting Ethertalk frames on the ethernet network, which the Asante Bridge should see and bridge over to Localtalk. 

I can see my Appleshare volume now with both my Quadra and my SE using their on-board ethernet, so I know it's working... it just won't go over this bridge into Localtalk land. And as I remember there shouldn't be anything I need to do on the server side- this Asante MicroPrint bridge should be doing the work for me.

Next I'll check these local talk adapters and try some phone net adapters that I also have.
