Tray-loading iMac G3
I went to my local dump one day and I saw something that stood out above all the other beige boxes. It was a tray-loading iMac. I thought that it would be cool if it worked, so I brought it home for $5 and plugged it in with an Apple USB Keyboard and Mouse and powered it up. I heard a fan start and a hard drive whir up and then it chimed. It started booting into OS 9. The OS 9 install was broken and bombed each time I booted it, so I installed OS X 10.1 and now it's working fine. You can check out some photos I've taken of it on my Flickr photostream.
Ugh, Bondi Blue, never ever struck me as a good color choice. Nice find however. Welcome to the forums too.
Thanks for the welcome. One of my friends hates Bondi Blue (well all tray-loaders in general) as well and would much rather have one of the more transparent colours (e.g. graphite, ruby, sage, etc.).
sweet find! wat better way to come here and be initiated then by way of a conquest!
Better way? Try selling PBG3 batteries for $10 and TAMs for $50; that'd be quite the entrance :lol:sweet find! wat better way to come here and be initiated then by way of a conquest!
