It might be as easy as a loose connector or two -- for keyboard, trackpad and display. Just do a careful looksee around them there parts and you might be able to fix it quickly.
And finding a good-sized hard drive for that 3400 shouldn't be too hard. Just about any IDE laptop drive will do -- even the thick ones. You're also lucky that you have a full 144MB of RAM. It's very expensive memory, so you definitely made out like a bandit!
