The forum went down. Forums do that. It's typically not required to post every time it happens
No idea, perhaps if you gave us some clues we could help.I got the error/sad mac. What happened?
Which error code was it, and which page were you trying to view?
Everything seems fine now, so I guess it was just a temporary glitch...
Edit: Just checked the server error log, and there's nothing recorded for your IP at the time you specified...

I know it happens. But it's also good to let people know....Seconded.The forum went down. Forums do that. It's typically not required to post every time it happens![]()
HTTP 500 errors are server related, so I guess it was just a temporary glitch with the server. I wouldn't worry about it, but please do report any further occurrences to me either here or via PM/e-mail.

So if in a major city, the power went out for an hour, you think no one should be told? Oh, why the heck should we tell our subscribers why the power was out? Why bother let them know anything?...why?I know it happens. But it's also good to let people know....Seconded.The forum went down. Forums do that. Yes, we should all be PM'd when the board goes down, and PM'd when it comes back up again.I know it happens. But it's also good to let people know....
Next, how do receive our PMs while the board is down?
I was outside when I posted that. :-*Go outside. Breathe fresh air. Get a life. It helps. :beige:

Guys, remember "Keep it Civil"?
"No need to post every time the forum goes down". In case you haven't noticed, the problem was reported and ~tl checked into the issue because of the fact it was reported.
At the most i'd have suggested this go in the 68kMLA Bug Tracker thread, otherwise this thread is fine.

Yes, certainly do report any errors you notice on the forums. It is helpful for me to be able to check them out, even if they're just a slight glitch in the server – as this seems to have been.
As iMac600 said, the Bug Tracker thread is probably a better place to do it rather than starting new threads – or you can send them to me via PM or e-mail (admin@68kmla.org).

If it's of any comfort to HMFG, I just a few minutes ago attempted to reach these forums from a different HDD. It was one that had not been used for that purpose for some time. The result? Black screen, Sad Mac and a very special error code with '404' in the second line. (Obviously a 68030 Sad Mac rather than a 68000.)
Why? The older bookmark was still in place: http://www.68kmla.org/index.php
As you can read, resetting the bookmark to the current: http://68kmla.org/forums fixed the problem. FreeDNS just speculated that the server was down, without providing a redirection.

I even refreshed, I don't bookmark for that very reason.
Only after like 5 or 10 minutes did it come back.
