For what it is worth to you, I have a black Performa 5400/180MHz, a true Directors Edition and so marked, and three black PowerPC 5500/250MHz without reference to DE. The 5500s have black keyboards and mouses. The base costs of the Macs were AUD71 (12/2005), 10.50 (11/2005), 80 (1/2006) and 62.50 (6/2006), which illustrates something of the vagaries in outcome of eBay auctions. All were bought in Australia, and neither shipping costs nor separate mouse/keyboard costs have been included. You can believe that black ADB II mouses are the scarcest components. Each Mac now has a Sonnet L2 G3/400MHz daughter card, 136MB EDO 2k RAM, PAL TV-tuner, A/V-card, CSI 10Base-T, 2-port USB card, and 8GB HDDs with OS 9.1. Farallon made some CSII 10/100-Base-T cards, but they are most uncommon.

The likelihood of getting a replacement black (P5400, PPC5500 or P5420CD) case is just short of improbable, although a Wanted ad in eBay could get you some overpriced offers. Alternatively, there are beige cases that could be fudged, depending as you wish for Authentick or functional. MLBs are offered, and the EDO RAM (2k) turns up, from time to time. NIB A/V cards can still be found.
