Streaks on LaserWriter 4/600 Printouts
I have recently been getting streaks on the side of my LaserWriter 4/600 printouts. They go over to about where the margin is and have gradually gotten bigger. They are greyish in color.
I suspect it's the toner cartridge, but before I go out and buy a new one I want to know if there are any other possibilities for this.
Also, for the toner cartridge, there is an HP in there right now. Do you recommend an HP 4L cartridge for these printers or should I get a different brand?

Sounds like the cleaning parts isn't working. there's a cleaning process that is supposed to take the toner off the drum. It's not working, and when the drum turns, it picks up more toner, but never gets rid of it.
Hmm...how would I go about fixing that?
I think a new toner cartridge is your best bet.
Generally you need a new toner.
Sounds good to me. Does anyone know what model I need? There's an HP cartridge in there now, I think it's for the 4L series, yet aren't there multiple models of 4L just as there were several different Personal LaserWriters?
Lots of different printer models usually use the same exact toner cartridge. This is also true for ink cartridges.
Its an HP92274A or 74A
This would be good info for the wiki. Its an HP92274A or 74A
And FYI, I have a very similar problem. Only instead of a line, it's a series of dots. About 3 per page. I assume it's just a spot of toner stuck to the drum that doesn't get cleaned off. Since I don't use it for anything that incredibly important, I just ignore it.
