Change Mac Plus or SE wallpaper??
Anyone know of any software that can display an image on a Mac Plus or SE desktop instead of the standard cheesy wallpaper from the control panel?
I could have sworn I saw an image of an SE on the internet that someone had a BMP or JPG displayed as their wallpaper. I'd like to maybe display a MacPaint image as my wallpaper. Anyone know how to pull this off?

Dang, There was a download for the program Backdrop on here somewhere. That I think should do the trick.
Backdrop? I'll have to look into that. Thanks.
Well, garsh, thanks for linking to my site!I found it here.
Anyway, you might find it helpful to get GIFconverter, and know that your image needs to be 512 x 342, not 512 x 384 as I said in the readme. Be warned that the normal way of making startupscreens in ResEdit won't work. You must use GIFconverter or SuperPaint, I prefer the former.
For Backdrop you can use MacPaint or even GraphicConverter on OS X to do the trick. It takes any MacPaint format; startup screen format is not necessary.

No, it fails, I get a nice garbled static screen.
Strange...mine has worked fine with a file from an OS 9 Mac...and I've used several different files.
Did you play around with the DA at all to adjust the picture on the screen?

Eh, DA? Mines just an init.
My version is either incomplete or outdated. Could you find the time to upload your version?
EDIT: wait, is there a DA in the INIT file that is visible from Font & DA Mover?

I'm trying to do this with my Classic II (7.1), and it works fine until you open a Finder window and move it or close it. Draws all corruptly. (attached images)
