Adobe has Premiere Elements too, and both are closer in functionality to Final Cut anyway, including the old Premiere. In fact, a lot of people say it was because of Final Cut and Final Cut Express that Adobe discontinued Premiere and went on to produce Premiere Pro as a Windows-only app. (Until CS3 where it was ported to Intel Mac as well.)

Of course, a Core i7 desktop mac would be completely epic, there's an indication online that Windows may run a bunch of Adobe's apps better anyway. http://macanimationpro.digitalmedianet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=58947

It's based on AfterEffects, but who knows whether or not it would be any different for Photoshop or whatever other app. I may run the test myself at some point using a fresh+updated install of Leopard and Vista Business on my iMac, with the trial versions of either CS3 or CS4.

Which i7 system are you using, Anonymous Freak, or did you end up building your own?
