A local pickup from Freecycle. Comes with an matching Epson printer. No keyboard or mouse though. Bad hard drive. I assume either a 266mhz or 333mhz and maybe the printer is grape too. None of the later models were grape. If so could the printer be an Epson 740i? Will find out on Monday when I pick it up. My first conquest in a while.
I'm pretty sure the grape iMac was the most popular of all the fruit colours iMacs.I wonder which colors were the most sold. How rare is a grape iMac?I really, really wanted a grape one when I got my 333 but they were out, and I ended up with tangerine.

Based on observation I'd say tangerine and lime are the least popular iMac colors. Blueberry, grape, and strawberry would probably be tops in that order out of the original fruit colors.
The 740i was more expensive than the regular 740 in its day; I bought a regular beige 740 with my tangerine iBook for that reason. They're good printers unless yours fell victim to the streaking issue or if you need vibrant shades of red--the reds on mine tended to be a bit dark. Pretty decent quality prints though, I used mine everyday from 2000-2003 and continued to use it for two years after that as a second printer before I got my LaserJet.

My Epson 740 (not i) chugged bravely along from 1999 until 2006, when it stopped pulling the paper through. During this same time I went from the aforementioned orange iMac, to a graphite 600 (I didn't want anything to do with the awful Flower Power or Blue Dalmatian grotesqueries), to my current iMac G5. I replaced it with another Epson, a CX5000. I like me an Epson. :beige:
I have a grape 266 with 192 and a 27GB 7200RPM hard drive. they run quite well for some reason despite such low MHz.
It even runs Mozilla web browser really well too, as long as facebook isn't used. Using facebook on that thing is about as *fast* as the OS 9 log in process.
