G4s in (most) any form are great machines. I'm still rocking out with a dual 500MHz G4 tower as my main desktop, happily chugging away at Leopard. My main portable is also a PowerBook G4, running Leopard like a little champ. So yes, I'd say you can expect a good, long life from your G4. Enjoy
