Oh SQUEE!!!
How much are you selling them for?
Trade you a G3 500MHz for a G4 450.
G4 400 MHz/1 MB ZIF, tested - no heatsink - how about $15 shipped ea. Quick, easy upgrade for B&W. From the looks of it, there are about 40 of them here, I just need to test them.
There's also at least 30 of the G3 450 MHz/1 MB. $12 shipped ea.
I have nearly every speed here...
G3 233, 266, 275, 300, 333, 366, 400, 450
G4 350, 400, 450

do you only sell or also trade ?
shame
what would shipping to europe be ?

Add $5 to all the prices for Europe. So $20 shipped for the G4 400, etc.shame what would shipping to europe be ?
id be interested in 2 G4 400's then i got 2 B\W 's who could do with a G4 upgrade
Will any work in a beige G3?
I have to check. This might de-rail my pimped out G3 AIO project if they don't.Will any work in a beige G3?
Hey, that sounds interesting! Do you still have a 450 MHz available? Do you confirm this will work seamlessly in a B&W G3?
I may be a happy european customer, too!

I could be wrong but some G3/4s were clock locked to 100 FSB and other will do 66/83 fine.
I am testing G4 400 MHz processors right now. The testing machine is a B&W G3 400 MHz.
G4s work perfectly in a B&W G3, but you must apply a patch to the ROM, because Apple decided to block G4s in order to make people buy G4 towers. The patch is at http://eshop.macsales.com/Tech/FTP/newertech/BWG4Enabler.sit - apply BEFORE installing the G4.
Additionally, you must update the jumper block to correspond to the new speed. This is not a problem if you have a 400 MHz G3 and want to go to a 400 MHz G4, but to increase your speed you need several small jumpers and a jumper guide (see http://www.dgweb.ca/g3/part5.html). I not recommend overclocking the G4 using the stock heatsink.
I have several tested G4 400 MHz processors, with 1 MB L2 cache, the price is $15 each shipped USA, $20 each shipped elsewhere. Send PayPal to mike@silvernetworks.net (no credit cards).
Note: These are tested in B&W G3 only right now. I will test in Beige G3 soon.

You are. All ZIF modules apart from some third party upgrades are motherboard clocked. The exceptions can have their settings changed through onboard jumper blocks or switches/dials.I could be wrong but some G3/4s were clock locked to 100 FSB
no worries mate, i bought a G3 450mhz CPU from a B&W from ebay for my AIO in my sig, it works great but you have to decide between 433mhz or 466mhz due to the 66mhz bus speed. i use to know a site that showed you what jumpers did what.I have to check. This might de-rail my pimped out G3 AIO project if they don't.Will any work in a beige G3?
i even tried a G4 zif from a Yikes G4, it works but gets detected as a 604 CPU and shows half of the L1 cache and no L2 cache. i tried most of the CPU/cache enablers and all would cause the system to crash on bootup. with the CPU running like that everything ran uber slow. i did wish i could have gotten this to work out.
but my AIO is in my sig, parted out and in storage :'(
You needed to do the B&W Firmware update from a 3rd-party CPU upgrade maker. It was essentially a modded Yikes! Hey Mike, I'll take a pair of 450 G4s if available as of now. Also PM
There's only a few G4 450 MHz processors. Tons of G3 450 MHz though. I'm going to hold on to them for now. If you're interested I'll send two G4 400s for $35.
i was talking about my Beige G3 not a B&W, i dont think you could use the firmware update like that on a Beige G3.You needed to do the B&W Firmware update from a 3rd-party CPU upgrade maker. A G3/450 would be nice for my pimpin' beige desktop... Have any tested, and would they work in a desktop beigey? 83mhz bus means it would run at a cool 500mhz at least (technically an underclocking - the proc speed setting is the same for 500mhz at 83mhz as 400mhz at 66.)
Will test in a beige today.
OK, just to confirm: that's US$35 for the pair, shipped to Australia, no heatsinks? If you're interested I'll send two G4 400s for $35.
SOLD!!
