Any chance it was cold and bringing it into the house condensed water in the power supply? Could be you just popped a fuse and replacing it when the unit has dried out will cure it.

Possible although I had let it sit about 3 hours before powering it up and it was not an overly cold day (I got home and found that Mr Postman had left it on my back steps). First thing I plan to do is check the fuse once I take it apart and locate the said fuse
