2. Def. Not, I have been using both the soldering iron and heat gun. Set it around 350celsius for removing the old caps. Seemed to work real well, got all the caps of relatively quickly compared to other methods. Got it recapped, and its working great. I am going to do my CC board next and then a Turbo Express!

3. For sure, I have been watching the board closely while doing this, first things that get damaged are plastic areas.
