My personal favorite store was Egghead Software. While the other kids went to Toys R Us when they wanted to shop I was at Egghead, browsing the latest software and trying out demos on the LC III or the HP (I believe it was a Vectra of some sort) they had in the store. I almost cried when Egghead closed and went online only, as it was one of my favorite childhood memories. I still have a shopping bag from Egghead somewhere.

I remember when they closed their stores. I bought a CTX EzBook (P150, 16MB RAM) for $1000 and Quake II. Years before that I turned in my Egghead Rewards (or whatever they called it) card because I couldn't find any OS/2 software. Everything was Windows! :O

Do you remember when CompuAdd closed their doors?
