I'm a bit worried about my LC's power supply for the following reasons:
1. There is an odor coming from it, it smells a bit like burnt fish.

2. The hard drive didn't get enough oomph to start up on its own.

3. The video problems I have written about in this section of the forum do not seem to stem from anything in the video system.

The supply is not making the infamous whistling noise known to occur on some LCs. However, I am curious as to whether or not I should consider replacing it, especially if I want to stick the IIe card inside the LC instead of the dying CC.

If I need a new one, would anyone know where to get a **NEW** one (as in one that has never been used) and if so, for what price? (If the power supply in my beloved LC is going to die I would gladly spend a hundred dollars to fix it...this is a Mac I have used since preschool!) If there is no way of acquiring a NOS power supply, what would I be looking at to find one that is not only in good shape but does not make the whistling/wooshing noise and would be guaranteed to work for another 17 years?
