RAM Use on LC475

RAM Use on LC475 Hardware 4 posts Jan 29, 2009 — Jan 29, 2009
Now that I have my 475 up and running I have a question or two about its RAM use...

About this Macintosh states that the system is using 30MB of the 36MB installed in the system. What should I do to fix this problem? (It's System 7.1, by the way, and is the same 7.1 I had installed on the LC--I swapped logic boards but retained my hard drive, adding the enabler to the system folder right before I made the swap).

Do you have 32-bit mode switch on or off? On would be good.

You also need a battery to retain the 32-bit setting.

Ahh...it's off. I do have a good battery (just installed it) but have a slightly off-topic question about the batteries--do the iMac G4s use the same batteries? (If so I'm going to buy one of those since my mom just killed her battery).
