Apple IIc video cable type?

I have an Apple IIc, and a power supply is on the way. Now all I need is a composite video cable in order to hook it up to my TV. Just wondering...does it have to be the type with one yellow on each end, or can it be the yellow-red-white kind?

All composite cables are the same. A red-red one will work or a white-white or a chartreuse-chartreuse.

Hi, thanks for your answer, although I was actually referring to the kind where it's one connector on one end, and a three-way connector on the other end...oh well.

And anyway, I posted too soon! After I posted I looked in a cabinet that I hadn't looked in before and lo and behold, I found a yellow-yellow cable! So I'm good!

If you have a cable that has one connector on one end, and three on the other; then it's the wrong cable.

The cable you want is properly titled an "RCA connector to RCA connector" cable. All RCA connector cables carry only one single signal per connector. Composite video, monophonic audio (hence the use of two for stereo,) etc.

It really doesn't matter what color the ends are, those are just meant for convenience in connecting the two ends. I have a three-connector cable that has no color coding. It's a pain to keep straight, but it works just fine. It's just common convention to use white for mono sound or the left channel of stereo, red for the right channel of stereo, and yellow for composite video. It honestly doesn't matter. Right now, my IIc is using a red/white pair cable, but only using one of the two plugs. (I believe I'm using the white, but I don't recall off the top of my head.)

So, suppose I have one of those sets of three different cables attached together? So it's red, yellow, and white on both ends, and they're separate cables, just glued together. So if I plugged in the yellow cable (or any other color) into the TV and left the other two cables hanging, it would work, right?

Yes it would work, as long as you use the same color cable on each end you'll get the composite video from the IIc to your TV.
