No. Just unsuitable for the model. All three Beige G3 machines were specified for 384MB total (max.) of RAM with then-current technology, and the desktop version had also a height restriction on the DIMMs. Later SDRAM production accommodated the height restriction and enabled 256MB DIMMs for use in all three versions. However, a 256MB 168-pin PC133 CL3 SDRAM card was then and is now as much as a Beige G3 of any kind can use in a slot, for a current maximum of 768MB.
