Ahem. I used to dial into work from home by issuing modem commands to the 2400 baud external modem (that cost me a pretty penny too!) that was directly connected to an ADM-3A (old even when I got it from work). I made a shell script that would drop the line and call me back so it was on their dime heh. Then I would read the usenet newsgroups by connecting to the local college system. This was all before everyone found out about the internet. ah, the good ole days. Keep in mind this was outdated when I was doing it, I just always loved working with the old technology and proving it still useful.

I still have a 386 UNIX box and a bunch of terminals. I have ebay'd a cpl. There are still systems out there that use them and folks keep an eye out for replacements. For instance, auto-repair and parts stores use them and they are on all the time and get severe burn-in. Heck, I sold the ADM-3A for > $300!
