Help with networking
Hi
I'm the proud owner of an SE/30, running A/UX 3.02...
Is anyone aware of a network card that would be compatible with this setup? All I can find
is that A/UX required 'special' drivers... Not the System 7.01 ones... but ones written specially
for A/UX I guess. Combine this with an SE/30 specific card, and I'm doubting I'm ever gonna get
this connected...
So, does anyone know which card(s) are supported...
Have tried serial cable (gibberish at client end), and asantetalk (dunno what's going on here!!) to no avail...
Just cannot seem to get connected to this old machine...

Serial will work with SLIP, not PPP. "man slattach".
AsanteTalk will work with AppleTalk.
AsanteTalk will work with AppleTalk.
Kinetics SE/30 cards should work -- they were what the engineers first had when developing TCP/IP for A/UX.
Any ethernet card with a Sonic Systems chipset should work -- Apple used Sonic for their own boards.
Dayna, Asante -- should work, but check the A/UX compatibility lists.

Thanks for all the help... Managed to get a brand new(!) Sonic EtherNet card which works a treat!
Only one thing I'm having trouble with, and it's not network related, so I'll open a new thread.
Cheers again
