2x Portables, both working!

Both were a bit grumpy but started up. One's HD seems a bit screwy as it'll boot with happy mac then gives up.

They also came with lots of extras: I've got 3x batteries, an original PSU, all the manuals, and 2x Portable cases.

I'm going to rebuild one battery as lead-acid (this looks like it should fit inside the original battery shell http://www.mdsbattery.co.uk/shop/productprofile.asp?ProductGroupID=1365)and might try rebuilding the other with Nimh AAs, as I know people have managed to do so.

Also going to recap both logic boards, I'm hoping to also get a 34->50 pin scsi cable and get a Flash boot disk going.

After that I'll be selling one of them.

If you need a 34pin to 50pin scsi adapter to replace that screwy hdd let me know, i have a spare

(i might even be able to set you up with a scsi2sd, i have a spare PCB and most of the components... )

@cc_333 both non-backlit sadly. Vaguely considering looking into how hard to get electrluminescent backing for the screen

@max1zzz that would be amazing - definitely need a cable! Shall I pm you about it?

Oh and I've recapped one Portable so far. Everything seems to be working fine.

@westcoastech it's a long way to BC from the UK, but I'd consider it... I'll post on the forums when I've got them both refurbished.
