So a couple of days ago I put a message up on the local Freecycle asking for a compact Mac. Just today the lady who runs our local Freecycle emailed me.

The good news?

She has 3 Macs she's looking to get rid of. An LC575, Performa 6200 and an Indigo iMac (slot load)

The bad news?

I have no car. What I can take would depend on where she lives, as it would involve catching buses, and possibly walking a fair way, and changing buses.

Hmm, we will see....
