Rubbing alcohol will often remove marker doings, with a little persistence and ideally used in conjunction with a mildly abrasive cleaning sponge or the like. These did the trick on an eMate in my possession that had similarly been marked on the bottom as belonging to some school or other.

I tried to see if Mr. Clean Magic Eraser would take it off as I know it does great with permanent markers (was able to remove a marker nick that my youngest did to the LCD of my iMac G5 with ease), but it wouldn't remove the permanent marker....probably because it had been marked when it was new MANY years ago. All it seemed to do was dull some of the finish on the plastic, though I hope it was only the effect of years of crud that it's collected over the years in a school.

I'll give the alcohol treatment a try. Hopefully that will give better results. :beige:
