As my pursuit of vintage software continues I managed to find another Kid Pix in a mint condition box.
There were a few bonuses with this one:
1. The box has a 1991 award sticker on it. I've never seen this before on a Kid Pix box except in old catalogs and magazines.
2. There are several sets of Kid Pix stickers inside! Each sheet has six stickers, all of which have different Kid Pix-related designs.
3. There is an offer, never mailed, to join the Brøderbund Kids Club. I was actually a member of this in the 1990s before the buyouts folded the club and still have the kazoo they sent me. This offer includes product information sheets for many of the popular Brøderbund titles circa 1992, including Treehouse, Kid Pix, and Playroom.
The floppies are also of interest as they are blue with the older labels. I already have a beige set like this. (I wrote a thread some time ago about Brøderbund's inconsistency with the color of their floppies; I find it makes collecting their products all the more interesting).
I'm not sure yet where or if I'll use this copy of Kid Pix. I may save it in case I decide to put Kid Pix on another computer at some point. I do plan to get the MS-DOS Kid Pix that I got a few months ago running soon; I'm fixing up an old PS/2 this weekend!
