Maybe this is merely a coincidence of connectors, but is this what looks to be a NuBus-based computer?

It's true. I think the standard NuBus connector (i.e., not the elongated style used by the LCIII-PDS) is a 96-pin EuroDIN connector. This particular connector was used on things far removed from NuBus.

For example, Network Equipment Technologies (NET) uses them in its IDNX systems as the interface between the individual cards and the backplane.

They are also used for certain swappable hard drive setups.

There are many other uses, but those are the only two I could recall right now.
