HyperCard Speed Issues on a 300MHz G3 Troubleshooting 5 posts May 17, 2009 — May 19, 2009
I am running HyperCard on my iBook G3 and am having a bit of a problem with speed. It is running a speed-sensitive stack too quickly, rendering it nearly inoperable. Is there any way to adjust the program or stack to make it run slower or am I better off moving it to an older Mac?

You're running HyperCard in OS 9, right?

Yes. I'm running OS 9.1 and it's running "as-is" (that is, not as Classic Mode in OS X; I don't have OS X installed on this iBook). I've got 192MB RAM and am not using virtual memory.

and you're using HyperCard 2.1, right?

If so, i think you'd be better off trying the stack on System 7.

did you get my PM, BTW? :)

Just try G3 Throttle. It works like a charm on Classic Mac OS, and should help you run Hypercard apps that are too fast for your computer at a usable speed.
