PDF Readers for 8.6 & 9.x
There are some PDF writers out there like Jaws, Print to PDF, ... but I wonder if there are any PDF viewers in existance, beside Acrobat Reader because I´ve never heard about one. Do you know any alternative PDF viewers?
I just use Adobe Reader 5, I find it still reads just about any PDF you throw at it.
I also use Acrobat Reader 5, as I don´t know any other reader.I just use Adobe Reader 5, I find it still reads just about any PDF you throw at it.
But the question was, if there is any other reader in existance, ...

etc...
Foxit for MacOS 9 ??
Um...no.
I guess he didn't read the subject line, and didn't realize that the OP was asking very specifically about 8.6 and 9.x-compatible alternative PDF readers. AFAIK, there aren't any, but would be delighted to learn otherwise.

oops...
I have Photoshop Elements 2.0 for OS 9 (not sure if it works on earlier versions) and it reads PDFs.
And finally, ... there is at least one further PDF reader for Mac OS 9
"MacGhostview" in version 3.2 from 2005. Shareware, and the developer himselve only offers OS X versions anymore, but it´s downloadable here:

workes pretty well at my G4

IIRC, CanOpener will open and read PDFs. I could be wrong, though. It's a program designed to preview and open ANY file format. Even if the document was recovered from a hard drive crash, it will be able to let you view what's in it.
